Following Kate’s departure at the end of last year, we are in a period of vacancy, during which we are preparing to recruit a new Rector. Many of you completed our questionnaire asking what you think are important qualities in the person we appoint. Thank you for doing that.
Together with the PCCs of Smalley and Morley, we are now putting together a Parish Profile containing this and other information which will be shared with candidates considering joining us as Rector. We are excited about everything we have to offer and pray that it won’t be long till we have someone new in place.
In the meantime, thanks to everyone who is getting involved in the teams who run our church week to week. We are feeling a very positive, communal vibe, with tasks being shared more and more widely.
As we await our new Rector, you may wish to join us in prayer. The PCC has created the following vacancy prayer:

Lord God our Father,
As we wait for a new beginning, we give thanks for what has been, and for the established communion between our 3 parishes.
Inspire our thoughts, guide our actions and draw us together in fellowship and trust, as we take each step towards a new appointment.
Help us to use this vacancy as an opportunity for reflection, for growth, and for renewal, trusting in our Lord Jesus Christ and guided by the Holy Spirit.
